A real (long) update

Holy cow, things have been crazy around here!

First, we finally got moved out of my parents house!!!!!!!!!^nth degree.  We really struggled with the buy vs. rent thing and we thought we wanted to buy.  Anothony's credit is less than stellar, and mine is almost decent.  My credit score is 596, and looking over my reports, I have 8 judgements that are paid in full, but they haven't been listed as such yet, so those are really hurting things.  I need to get off my ass and call the companies to have them fix that.   There were still 4 other things listed on there as owning, but I had paid them off within a couple weeks of running the report and I was told it takes a few weeks for them to update.

So, that being the bigger issue, we considered renting again.  We threw up a pro/con list.  Pro being I needed to get the FUCK OUT of my parents house before I killed someone. Con being paying that much money for something I have no control/ownership of.  Then it occured to us that all three older kids should be out of the house in about 6 years (or sooner).  Does it really make sense to buy a 5+ BR house when you will only need a 2 BR in 6, 7 years?  No, it doesn't.

So, we found a great 4 BR way out in BFE land.  It's an old farm-house, 2 story with a basement on a couple acres of land with barn, garage, carport, covered & lighted patio.  I get to have my Gunner-puppy at home again!  And it appears we inherited a cat with the house....but the cat might just have to go (more on that in a bit).  The main level has 3 BR, bath, kitchen, wash room, living and dining room.

The upstairs is the old style steeple roof/attic type room.  It's one solid room with a HUGE freaking closet and tons of drawers/storgage space.  The girls immediately chose that room for theirs, and it's more than big enough for the two of them, their dressers, end tables, desks, shoes, etc.  LOL

Tyke is really upset at having his own room.  He's shared a room for all of his life, so being all by himself is really hard for him.  I think it helped once we set up his drum set, his keyboard, bongo drums, plugged in night-lights and plastered posters of super heros on all his walls.

Spencer, on the other hand, is thrilled to have his own room where he can actually shut the door and keep Tyke out of his stuff. His closet is big enough that it holds his TV, Wii and all his shoes/clothes, so he's still got tons of space in his room.  He spent a lot of time trying to figure out where to hang his wooden masks.

I've spent the past two weeks trying to unpack and get things settled in.  First room I got done was the dining room, simply because it was the easiest.  Then I tackled the bathroom and kitchen due to necessity.  We've got 80% of our stuff put away, so that's not too bad considering how crazy our schedule is.  I'm still working on putting up blinds...only 3 windows in the entire house (Spencer, Tyke and Bathroom) had blinds.  2 of the girls 5 windows have the pull-down shades, but they are so old they don't pull back up. LOL

Anyhow, I bought blinds for most of the windows (2 dining room, 1 living room, 3 my bedroom, 1 girls)  and so far I have 1 put up in the dining room.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to put up venetian blinds by yourself, without the use of power tools?!?!?!  Honest to Gaia, after 45 minutes wrestling with the ONE I got done, once I finally clicked it into the brackets (which is not nearly as easy as it sounds), I yelled out "HA! Take that bitches!!!!"  Devin fell off her chair laughing so hard.  and that was just a cheap-o 42x42 1/2" wide model.  I can't even fathom trying to do the 60x72 wooden, 2" wide slated living room window!  I might just break down and buy a damn drill, it's not like we wouldn't use the damn thing.

So, the land we are on shares a common side with a hay field.  The previous renters left their pregnant cat when they moved out.  The cat had her kittens roughtly 3 hours before we moved in.  Joy.  The landlady begged us to keep the cat because it's so nice and friendly and she's a great mouser, which we will need being by a hay field and all.  The landlady will even take care of finding the kittens homes and pay to fix the cat if we keep her.  OK, I can see the value in a mouser cat, and she is really friendly, so we agreed to keep her so long as she gets along with out dog. Once Anothony got the 16x16 foot kennel done for Gunner, I was thrilled to bring him home to his new house!!!!!

Gunner is in the house and Jilly-bean (Tyke named the cat) came to the door asking for foods, and Gunner walked up to sniff her.  Gunner was raised with Kitty and my mom's three cats, all of which he got along with great, even played with.  No issues were had from either Gunner or the cats.  Until this cat.  First thing she did was hiss and swipe at Gunner, who I must say is a fucking PANSY of a dog.  Later that day, while Gunner was still inside, someone let the cat in the back door and this time she flat out attacked him! So, Gunner will not leave the house if the cat is anywhere in the vecinity and piddles himself when he sees her.  So, the cat needs to go.  I called up my mom to see if we could have one of her cats (like I said, mouser and hay-field....) because I know those cats will get along with Gunner just fine.

Anyhow....the kids are still driving me crazy with all their activities.  We've got soccer-related stuff 7 days a week between 4 kids, indoor and outdoor soccer, and Tyke is now playing baseball (WOOT) which is typically 3 nights a week.  The older kids have starting ref'ing soccer games and they can make around $90 a day on Saturday's each working from 8-4, so not too shabby. I told them to save it up and they could buy nice school clothes instead of whatever I can afford at Ross or Good Will. :)

But, apparently, I am MUCH easier to be around now.  First weekend we moved in, saturday was 6am to 11 pm and sunday was 5:15am to 11pm....all I did was bitch and yell and do my best impression of a teenager who has perfected the *drama-queen-sigh*-FLOP routine.  Even after all that nastiness, Anothony says to me "Honey, you are so much happier here." I looked at him and said "Seriously? All I have done is bitch and yell for 2 full days.  How bad was I at my parents?"  He just smiled, gave me a hug and said "I love you." while patting me on the head.  LOL
