Thai Experience

In case some of you didn't know there was an event held at the Eugene public library to celebrate the declaration of Eugene's sister city, which is located in Thailand. The king and queen of Thailand graced our presence and there was performance of thai dancing, music, and my personal flavorite, Thai cuisine. Some of the food had pork in it, so I opted just for the tofu and a small sample of the tea, which was incredibly sweet (I only had half a cup with ice in it and shared that anyway).

I was a little shy about meeting the king and queen, but I figured it was my only chance to meet them, so I went up and introduced myself and told them it was a great honor to have them in our country and that I have always found their culture to be very interesting (especially the food!). We exchanged bows and I walked away feeling not as shy as I've been.

I was supposed to meet back with Jess and Ichigo back at Jess' place, but the whole Thai experience was a bit longer than I anticipated (I snapped some pictures, though, yay). And after walking back to my place I noticed my leg was really acting up. I've had it wrapped the last two days because I've put so much stress on it from lunging at fencing and all the running in ultimate frisbee (someone who plays soccer is in my class and said ultimate frisbee is tiring). It would have been almost 8p when I got to Jess' house, and I've had my sleeping pattern really messed up from the time change, so I've been going to bed around 9p and waking up around 5a. The day after the time change I fell asleep about 7p and slept until about 6a. So, I wouldn't have been able to stay long before I fell asleep anyway. Better to give my leg a rest. Maybe I'm narcaleptic?

Anyway, I had an interesting day, getting excited over Marikart DS, I can play that online and chat all over the world. Maybe I'll find some friends in Thailand and race against them.
