no paddle in sight

Don't have much to say really. I'm bored to tears at work.

My brother is stuck in Houston because he's part of a first response team at work. Part is a funny word when the entire team is two people. He could leave but there is some worry about liability should the tigers get loose and kill people. Yes, tigers.

He spent the evening going through the house and picking out the things he considered irreplaceable and sending them out with friends. He packed up his emergency supplies and headed to work fully expecting to to be there for three days.

His wife is in much the same situation, but her job is on the island. While her critters aren't dangerous, except for the poison frogs, she's got to be available for catastrophe response.

I should have called Jackson a few weekends ago. I fully intended to do it, but my weekends have been both uneventful and oddly busy the last few weeks.

And none of that mean anything in the end.

I want to create a new slang based on alphabet books. Like cockney rhyming slang, you'd have to know the reference to understand what's being said. I doubt I'll get too far in the endeavor, but it gives me something to do besides brooding and thumb-twiddling.

n is for neville, mi familia
