Two of the cleaning crew were discussing rap and one of them said (yes, this is a verbatim quote): "See Jamaicans, they can't rap, 'cause they're too far from being African. Jamaica, it's like a island."
I'm not exactly sure what that was supposed to mean, but I am fairly certain that I would like it to disqualify that person from the entering the gene pool. And I really don't think that explaining that culturally Jamaica is far closer to African tradition than much of the rest of the western hemisphere would be any help at all.
