There and Back Again

My character has been tempered by -30C weather.
A summary of the Siberian Adventure
First, a cold 24 hour train ride. It wasn't supposed to be cold, it's just that the heat in the wagon I was in was not working.
Ekaterineburg
wandered about in the cold looking for museums that turned out to be closed.
Except for one- the Photography museum. There's a town in Russia called Paris, and they have a small replica of the Eiffle Tower, but after looking at the pictures it was VERY clear that that's the only similarity between the town and the real Paris.
We went to the Church on Blood (well, that's what it's called in Russian). It's where the last Tsar of Russia and his family were killed. yes, death.
Had fun going down an icy slide.
Went to see the opera Carmen in Russian. It was cool to have my first opera experience in Russian. I fell asleep for the 3rd act, but it didn't seem like I really missed anything.

Novosibirsk
Went to Akademgorodok- the city where most intellectuals gathered during the Soviet era.
Met a Hippie. This Hippie was the curator to the Sun Museum, which was a collection of artifacts from all different cultures featuring the Sun or Sun god. The man had a headband, a very Hippie headband. He played some weird instruments and was very Hippie. It was a little apartment sized museum very out of the way. We happened to read about it and met him on the way, so we actually got to see it.

After a 38 hour train ride
Ulan Ude
By Lake Baikal, this city is very close to Mongolia, and you can tell. Most people looked Japanese, which was weird, because they all spoke Russian. randomly found a cultural museum which happened to have a new exhibit opening. As part of the ceremony, they served traditional Buryat food, some of which reminded me of Chinese food. There was a dish that was meat in dough, but it was kind of a cross between a bao and dumplings. It was DELICIOUS.

Irkutsk
It was cold. -38C. It was cold.

I don't know what other details to give. If you want more info, ask.
