Never to walk home alone again

Well on Wednesday night (the3rd-4th of January) I was walking home from my first shift at a restaurant in Northbridge... as I usually do. About ten minutes away from my apartment, I had some guy lean out of a car and yell obcenities like 'faggot' and 'gay cunt'. I don't believe that I walk like a 'fag', and I was wearing a black shirt and black pants. There was no indication that I am at all homosexual. I thought nothingof it. It's not like this doesn't happen at least twice a week. However, this time the guy was a lot more vicious than previous incidents, and he proceeded to spit out the window. They slowed down, and I was worried that they would u-turn and try something on me, so I looked around for side streets, and possible places to hide. I approached Alma street, a no-through road onto Fitzgerald. I thought about turning down there as a detour to my house, when four aboriginals and one caucasian of about 14-17 years of age walked up the street onto Fitzgerald. I thought nothing of them and attempted to walk past them. One slid up to me and punched me hard in the left side of my head. I stumbled back and the others surrounded me. I tried to push past the guys, but I was punched again from behind on the shoulder, and again from another guy on the back left hand side of my head. I fell to the ground. They proceeded to kick me, and I asked them what they wanted. They didn't say anything and continued to beat and kick me. There were 7 boys at this stage. I asked them if they wanted money and one shouted to get my wallet. I didn't have my wallet on me, so tried to get all the money I had (the tips I received). They continued to kick and beat on me. I managed to kick one of the kids in the stomach, and he fell back. This angered all of them and they laid into me many times worse. I curled up into a ball and hoped that I would get out alive. Fortunately, some people in a car pulled up and scared the guys off. They picked me off the floor and rushed me to the hospital. The damage was surprisingly mild, with only bruising, temporary %80 loss to hearing in my left ear, and a very black, purple and swollen eye. I've made a report with the police, and am now trying to get over my trauma. Bruises are healing, and as for my eye... nothing that a little Bobby Brown, Stila and NARS won't fix lol.
The moral to this story is;
Don't ever walk home alone at night
