i found out last week that they are giving me the boot from the navy b/c of my knee so i guess i am coming home to find a job and go to school. its not like i hve a choice b/c if i did i want to stay in.

i dont want a desk job i will go crazy with a desk job i have to be up and going.

I mean, if you have a knee problem, then having an on-the-go job back home isn't a viable option, so... Wouldn't you rather have a desk job at the navy than back home?

There's no incentative for the Navy to pay her to work a desk job. They were training her as a soldier (training for just over a year) to do a specific job and now she can't. Why pay to retrain her in something else when you can just pay the medical bills cut her loose and fill her place. Sorry that sounds cold. Its how it was explained to me by my military uncle. He got a desk job when he was diagnosed with diabetes but only cuz he'd been in over 10 years
