NYFW pre-start: Russian Fashion Industry Presentation And Reception.
Вернувшись с первой презентации Недели Моды НЙ, я до сих пор нахожусь под влиянием чувства, будто после долгой разлуки произошло воссоединение со своеобразной семьей. Не смотря на то, что эта презентация не являлась официальным открытием NYFW, а только небольшим привью того, что предстоит завтра, я уже пересеклась со знакомыми, любимыми лицами, вдоволь пообщалась и впитала в себя первые ароматы моды. И конечно же мы с Музой не устояли и пошли праздновать начало приключений в японскую кафешку, на десерт и саке, не смотря на то, что за окном ужасный холод. В этом году, если верить прогнозу, Неделя Моды выдастся самой холодной за последние 3 года и даже не представляю, как я буду завтра бежать через площадь, в павильоны, в открытых туфлях и легком пальто (и все ради моды!), я уже не говорю о бедных фешн-фотографах и стрит-стайл блоггерах, которым предстоит работать в этих условиях весь день.
A cегодняшнее мероприятие было посвящено новым русским дизайнерам: Pirosmani by Jenya Malygina, Serguei Teplov, Vardoui Nazarian, Dmitry Loginov ARSENICUM, Tegin, BEssARION, Arngoldt, Irina Shaposhnikova, Sergey Polyakov, Viva Vox, Bezous, Izeta, and Aleksandr Khrisanfov (копирую имена из приглашения, так как не уверена в правильном написании кириллицей), и проходило оно в шикарном здании Российского Консульства в НЙ. Это был сообразный микс моды и "русского". :) Ho cреди норковых шуб в пол, звериных принтов и блестящих топов, выделялись и молодые "повстанцы, одетые в винтаж, авангардные дизайны, с выбивающимися из рамок ординарного стрижками и говорящие на языке моды, будто это их родной язык! И было неимоверно здорово видеть этот свежий поток таланта, пробивающийся сквозь все-еще консервативные слои и рамки российской культуры. Эти люди уже занимают значительное место в развитии моды своей страны и медленно, но скоро мир моды узнает о России не только по богатым женам, одетым в меха и от-и-до образы с подиума, но и по настоящему fashion-таланту. И oсталось совсем не долго.
Having just returned from the first event of the NYFW, I can't help but feel this sense of family reunion. Even though this presentation wasn't an official opening and was just a tiny preview of things to come, I already had a chance to meet some of my favorite people, mingle and soak in some fashion. And of course, Moussa and I couldn't resist a quick visit to a Japanese cafe to celebrate with some chocolate dessert and sake on this brutally cold NY night. I really don't envy my fellow street style bloggers and photographers who are going to be working outside at the Lincoln Center tomorrow, while I can barely imagine running to the tents through Lincoln Center Square in my open shoes and light coat- all for the sake of fashion! The forecast is promising the coldest winter in the past 3 NYFW years, with snow on Saturday, so it will be tough for all of us to look cool while freezing to death.
Tonight's event was dedicated to the Russian up and comming designers: Pirosmani by Jenya Malygina, Serguei Teplov, Vardoui Nazarian, Dmitry Loginov ARSENICUM, Tegin, BEssARION, Arngoldt, Irina Shaposhnikova, Sergey Polyakov, Viva Vox, Bezous, Izeta, and Aleksandr Khrisanfov and was held at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in New York, with a very mixed crowd of fashion and just Russian. :) Among the floor length mink furs and overwhelming animal prints and glitter tops, there were the young "rebels" dressed in vintage and avantgarde designs, spotting funky hairstyles and talking fashion like it was their native language. It was truly exciting to see this new talent emerge from what is still very conservative culture. These young rebels are taking over the scene in their homeland and slowly but surely fashion industry will know Russia not only for the rich wives dressed in furs and off-the-runway designs, but also for it's true fashion talent. Just give it some time.
