This is a figure that I painted for our Christmas gift exchange for work, that I felt came out well.
This was a pewter fig that my mother-in-law found for me some years ago at a garage sale.
I had intentions of shading his leg and neck muscles, but after I had the white coat on, I felt like it worked without that extra detail--the mini had enough definition that he sort of cast his own shadows. The ice is just dry-brushing white over a medium blue, and for the mane, I started with cobalt blue and then overbrushed two shades of purple.
(Now I'm hoping that he stays attached to the base, and that the "snow" doesn't come loose and dust the inside of the globe!)
