Can you hear me now?

So after much discussion, research, hemming and hawing, I got a new phone. darkclawtwolf has decided to wait, and is thinking about the offers we pored over this weekend.

Since I like actual keyboards for texting, I took advantage of BestBuy's offer on the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II. Basically, I signed up (and changed my plan, which appears will *save* me money in the long run, we'll see) for two years with my favorite provider and got the phone for a whopping $1.00. My favorite provider also allows me to use my DD214 (discharge papers) to receive a discount on my bill and any accessories I purchase (which went towards a case and protector for the new phone). I wish I had known about this discount before, but better late than never.

And this is my first smartphone. Eeyikes! It's got a LOT of... stuff... on it, yes. However, making my test call to my Mom and Dad clinched the deal. Mom reported that my voice was noticeably clearer than on my other phone. Guess my 4-year-old eNV2 was done in. Ah well. Let's hope the Stratosphere does a great job!

DC and I also got my bike chain fixed, which was a very smooth and easy deal with the bike shop. After we got the phone, we went to see Wreck-It Ralph which was very cute and a quite enjoyable movie.

One more week of work until Solstice/Xmas vacation! Wheeee!
