i decided to read a newspaper today. the guardian. but my god, i realised why i stopped reading the bastard things. the world is a horrible, horrible place. one of the articles in it demonstrated why capitalism is inimical to freedom. apparently, the boss, the people who get to the top, demonstrate a far higher degree of narcissistic and histrionic personality disorders than most people, and have psychopathic traits - in fact the best basically are psychopaths who have some form of self control. no internal life to speak of, no true friendship, their ego is their job. but, of course, they want to make us work harder, faster, better, stronger. so even though we disagree with their values, they have the qualities which make them rise to the top, so they can impose their values upon us. and if one of us does not follow their values, then rest assured that someone else will...so we have to pre-empt them and be that guy who works more and more ourselves. ah, game theory, how neatly dost thou refute capitalism! more work, less freedom, more surveillance, the self's reflexive relations is one of property so we are priced, not valued, the idea of the scholar, the flaneur, is thrown out of the window as how much money does he bring in. sex brings with it the crippling but overrated fear of STDs, so it's gotta be monogamy all the way. this is not a good situation to be in people! we gotta overthrow capitalism!
