putting some projects in a box..
Had 2 rough weeks but now I finally have some time for myself:).
I decided to put some projects away for awhile, because I see myself stressing out when thinking of them, and that of course takes all the fun away, so Aurra, Leia and Lara will be in a box for a couple of months. I also will only make the mask of Nefertiri, cause the rest of her costume is a little bit to ‘exposing’ for me.
I did finish a Leia ceremonial gown though. Funny thing was: I had the necklace, and then I ran into some silver shoes, and before I knew it, I had bought some white fabric, button blanks and vinyl.
A well, I combined the pattern of a blouse and a skirt to make the dress, and used Sister Sola’s pattern idea for the wings.
I didn’t put so much detail in the dress so it doesn’t even come close to the lovely creations I saw on the C&O boards, but I had fun in it.
When I ever re-make this dress I think I would use a white stretch fabric for the underlayer, because now I must dance the woopie-joepie dance to get out and I would make the wings bigger. Actually much more difficult than it sounds because my fabric wasn’t wide enough.
Another thing to reconsider is the hair: next time I will use a more smoother hair extension then the one I have now (which have a wavy structure).
