My day trip to Glasgow was so much fun!
Elayne and I went to the Willow Tea Room (designed by Charles Reanie Mackintosh) which was beautiful, had a tour of the Glasgow School of Art (also designed by Mackintosh), toured the Glasgow Cathedral (beautiful), and wandered around the Necropolis ( great view of the city and, as morbid as this sounds, it was really cool to look at all the gravestones..how designs and grave inscriptions changed over time, etc..). After a good day of site seeing we headed over to the 'Wee Curry Shop' for dinner which was extremely statisfying (mmm..vegitable pakora and channa dal...). At the restaurant some middle-aged Glaswegian men chatted to us for abit about how much friendlier people in Glasgow are then Edinburghers...they were pretty entertaining..lol. It's funny to me how strong the Edinburgh/Glasgow rivalry is!...and I have to say as cool as Glasgow was... it's no Edinburgh!lol. After dinner we headed over to the Horse Shoe, which claims to have the longest continuos bar in the UK...it was rather big...but...it was kind of clover shaped...not long like your average bar... which, frankly, I think is cheating....
Anyway, the trip was wonderful and I only wish that i had thought to go sooner!
Today I was supposed to do alot of studying...instead I got my hair cut! It's shoulder length, but that's pretty short for me! i'm not sure if I like it or not...
The Dresden Dolls are in town so i'm going to try to make it over there tonight.. even though I'll have to go by myself :(
