The wedding had been long and tiring. There were so many guests to entertain, so many friends to booze and so many people to pay attention to. With all the teasing cat calls and knowing wiggling eyebrows aimed at Seiichirou's way, he hardly thought about the wedding night until he was finally dressed in comfortable pajamas and dived into the covers of his honeymoon bed. Sachiko, his wife, had simply slipped into bed, promptly falling asleep curled against his side. Seiichirou breathed out a sigh of relief. Just thinking about sleeping with Sachiko brought out this tension of uncertainty. How must he perform his husbandly tasks in bed? What if he hurts her? Sachiko had looked so frail and doll-like during their wedding. He was afraid he would break her. The rest of his night, he hardly gave much thought into those questions for his body felt weary and dragged his mind into oblivion.
Seiichirou woke up at the sounds of cheery songs playing on the radio. His fogged mind noted only the quick high tones and blunter lower ones as it slowly recognizes the tune as a famous J-pop song from his teens. Looking around the room, he noted the white walls decorated with red hearts and stringers. Oh yeah, wedding, his mind supplied helpfully, and Seiichirou sat up. The space beside him was empty but looked slept-in. He ran a curious hand across the bedding and almost smiled when he felt a small portion of his wife's lingering warmth.
He's a married man now.
Which reminds him, where did Sachiko run off to? He had thought she would be sleeping in after the wedding.
Stepping out of the bed, he slipped on his slippers and wandered out of the room. His legs took him to the kitchen. There he found Sachiko moving about the cooking stove, while she sung "deja vu, deja vu" along with the radio. Dressed in a large t-shirt and slacks, Seiichirou admired Sachiko's backside, appreciatively taking note of her hips moving back and forth to the rhythm of the song.
"Morning," Seiichirou said. The sound of his voice startled her. Sachiko immediately turned around to look wide-eyed at him, her face beet-red. "Seiichirou-san!"
Sachiko composed herself and smiled serenely as she walked up to him. "Good morning. Breakfast is almost ready." She took his wrist and pulled him into the kitchen.
TheNekoTalks:
I don't remember reading about Seiichirou's wife's name somewhere so please forgive me if it's not Sachiko. And "Deja Vu" is a Tokyo Babylon theme song. XD
Thank you for reading!
