Once, he had promised himself he wouldn't allow anyone take away someone dear to him, anyone or anything except maybe death; not if he can help it.

Ironically, here he is standing, dressed in a black tuxedo suit next to Yuki, also in a tux, on the bride's side waiting just like everyone else in the chamber for the Flower to make a grand entrance. For good measure, he eyes the brat who's going to take Sakura away  from him. The boy, whom he doesn't bother to name, looks stricken with nervousness and anxiety, but still appears to be glowing with happiness.

The back of Yuki's hand brushes his-a reassuring touch to remind him he should behave.
"Stop glaring at the groom, To-ya," Yuki leans to his shoulder to whisper, an amused smile already on his lips.

The groom's side is filled up with his family, relatives, far-away relatives and probably some important Chinese officials; enough to fill the rows of chairs, which is quite a stark contrast to the bride's side that only consists of him, Yuki, Sakura's close friends,
classmates, teachers and the little doll-not even all the rows are filled.

The couple has wanted to throw a moderate wedding, Western preferably, but Akizuki as expected, has taken all matters into her hands, fleshing out three ceremonies one after another; first Western, then Japanese and later on, Chinese. It explains why he's
wearing a tight tux right now and still has two robes left to wear that day.

A pianist, Sakura's ex-classmate, slides her fingers across the keys of the piano, playing the opening wedding song. Everyone rises up from their seats, turning expectantly to the back to see the bride.

Father appears first, smiling, and gestures an arm for someone to hold onto with a short bow. Sakura appears, links her arm with his, face all red with embarrassment and happiness and straightens herself gracefully for the walk down the aisle.

A fond smile automatically pulls on his lips. His sister is dressed in white-a long, white dress with white-pink tresses, ribbons and frills-he could find no words to describe the amazing sight. Several guests let out appreciative gasps and awed sounds (Tomoyo squeals), even the groom looks entranced.

Tomoyo has, again done a beautiful job with the wedding dress; with some help from her mother.

In Sakura's hand, she holds mother's cherry blossoms bouquet; the flowers still looks fresh and healthy despite the many years they had gone through in a confined space.

Mother, he feels, is happy to witness Sakura being given away.

Father passes Sakura's arm to the Li brat and goes to stand next to him, shoulders straight and face bright with happiness and some wrinkles. Touya gives him some tissues, which he accepts with a graceful smile, turning away his watering eyes.

Sakura is marrying someone now.

He can no longer keep the place of her number one protector for himself.

Yuki's fingers slide around his own, careful and tight, as Sakura and her now-husband exchange vows of love, trust, loyalty and commit to each other. He imagines Yue's long strands of silver hair brush his cheek; a simple gesture to remind him he isn't alone on that one.

A burst of white spots of light complete with flower petals and strong gusts of wind fill the chamber as soon as the newly-wedded share the kiss for eternity. Magical.
