Because writing is in my blood, and my keyboard is no crimson, I give you this...

How can you continue to look on this world with those eyes, those stolen eyes? They were his, and you took them, as well as his innocence, without mercy or recourse. You strung him along, moment by moment, whispering those sweet words into his ears until the lobes veritably dripped with honey, you arrogant bastard. And then, when that veil of lies was finally lifted from him, you cast him off. You ripped out those freshly apperceptive eyes, and took them for your own... because yours were so full of the poison you've been spreading all your life. Yours were useless, yours were tainted, yours were black. And now he lays there, broken and sobbing, lost in a darkness you led him to... you cast him into. And all he wants is for you to go to him, say you're sorry, and hold him. He wants you to take away this pain you've so wrongly cast upon him. You were brothers, once... or so he would say it. You walked in shadow, and he in light, but always there was a communication, a conduit through which the darkness and light would meet. He believed in that connection, thinking it all the two of you would ever need in order to reach your goals. He never wanted to drive you from the darkness, to change who you are. As a matter of fact, he defended you against those who would have otherwise demanded such changes, on pain of death! And yet, here you are, even still, unrepentant, recalcitrant to the last, you glorious son of a bitch.
The two of you walked for so long together that eventually it became unclear as to who was whom. Your words and deeds may well have been from the same person, though looking at your horrid, pale visage now I'd find that a difficult concept to believe. His kindness, your cruelty, both mixed into one, making a person more whole than any other that could exist. You were the fulcrum of balance, the paragon of unity to which all other enlightened souls strive... But for one thing.
You see, in his light, he had to accept some of your dark.. without this, that gray-area connection you shared could not have existed. And so, it was expected that you do the same... you had to possess at least a spark of goodness, of humanity within you in order to keep such harmony alive. Instead, you traded it for the greatest evil to ever burn these lands with its green-eyed gaze. Ambition. That most hated and coveted of human frailties, and you gave yourself to it in earnest. You wanted more, though of what I don't even think you know. You sacrificed, in that moment that you took his eyes, the one thing that could have possibly saved your execrable soul. His compassion.
It wasn't enough to toss yourself to the abyss, no... you had to take a part of him as well.
You look upon the world now, with a new view of life, and of death. You now have that which you sought most... That which would sate your detestable enterprise. Here it is, standing before you.
You now see the world as he saw it... for what it could be, and not for what you wanted it to be. And no matter where you go, no matter what you do, you'll never escape that sight. You'll always see this mudball for the greatness it could be, if only someone would help it along. You'll look at all of this glorious potential... and you'll know that you've taken its only chance away. Because that someone... that one person who could help this world achieve its beauty, its wonder... He is now laying on the cold stone floor of your family crypt, sightless and broken. You see the world for the glory that it should achieve... but thanks be to you, it never will.
