OK so....

Life has been good... for the most part. New York is amazing. I spend most of my days wandering around the city looking for something interesting to do and meeting people. I went to a few classes at Circle in the Square with Lindsey today, which was fun. Altar Boyz rocks. The rest of my time I've been auditioning.

So I guess I'll start with a short blurb about all of my auditions starting from the beginning:

Eastman: I loved the school and the trumpet professors. Got to see lots of friends. Good audition overall, but I cracked a couple of notes.

Julliard: Fun audition, but no dice. one girl called back. Emma Stanton is going to be famous.

CARNEGIE MELLON: AHHHHHHHHH! So this audition made alll of my work so far in life worth it. So I go to the audition, having all ready talked with the head of the musical theater department on a couple of occassions, and i felt really anxious but confident. So as i head to the bathroom right after the introduction meeting, my names called. I auditioned first for the day. I went in to the first room with Barbara, the head that I had been talking to. She had me do three pieces and worked with a couple. We discussed acting and school and such for a few minute then she sent me out. Right as I walked out of the door she said, "wait right outside, I'm going to send you to see Tony"...!!!!!! So i auditioned for Tony. More good vibes. As that ended he said he was sending me right in to sing. Most people sang in five minutes or so. I was in with Gary for about 45 minutes. Obviously a good sign. At one point our conversation got to te point where he was asking what other colleges i was applying to and what my parents thought. I told him that i was considering being a classical trumpet major. He then proceeded to tell me that I could do amazing things in musical theater and acting and that i should consider it as a career. Also: when its time to make decisions over the next couple of months, Carnegie Mellon should be considered alot. Whats more, he said that he would have Billy Porter and Phylicia Rashad call my house to convince me to attend Carnegie over my other options. Needless to say, I felt realy good after that audition. Oh yea, and I didnt make an ass of myself in the dance part. I certainly held my own with the other guys.

Oberlin: Impersonal. I did well. But I'm not too interested anymore.

NYU: Tommorow.
