New Year's Eve

It's offically 2009! I can't believe how fast the last year has gone by! So now, my New Year's resolutions are offically in affect and I am going to stick by them! I had a great unrestricted year in 2008, but it's time to start getting my priorities in order. This is going to be a year of change and a great year as well. I'm going to see to it.

So last night, Jim, Sarah, Todd, Dan and I went to Raleigh for a night of fun. We hit up a place called Napper Tandy's where there was a really good 80's cover band playing. The place was ridiculously crowded though! Just trying to get to the bathroom was a mission in itself. We sat outside on the heated patio where we indulged in dinner and many, many drinks. We laughed, we danced, we drank and rang in the new year and I had a great time.

However, when it came time to leave it was impossible to get a cab. I'm talking IMPOSSIBLE! Everytime we tried to get one, we got one-upped by others in our same situation. So what did we have to do? We had to walk back to the hotel! All I can say is thank God that the hotel was only 2 miles away. I just wish it wasn't, oh I don't know, 22 degrees last night! We were troopers though. As tipsy/drunk as we were, we made it back without too much trouble. I felt bad for Dan though, haha. Todd was supporting Sarah and after the first mile Jim and I were shouldering each other for support. Had we not done that I probably would have fallen into a ditch within the first couple of minutes. I'm not that familiar with Raleigh and luckily Jim was able to get us back to the hotel. I'm semi-skeptical that he actually knew where we were going, but I'm not complaining. We got back in decent time.

Back at the hotel the four of them engaged in the oh-so wonderful habit of weed smoking. I don't think smoking in the hotel was a very smart idea, but we are dealing with potheads afterall.

All in all, I had a great New Year's Eve a really good first year in Wilson. These people have definitely made my experience here a good one. I need to talk to my landlady tomorrow about my future in my apartment. Tomorrow marks the end of my lease so we need to discuss options. I also need to call and bitch out TWC. Their service has been iffy to say the least this year. I have not been completely satisfied and now they raised the rate of my service so if they are expecting me to pay them an extra 20 bucks a month, they better get it together.

I expected to make this entry a lot more longer and detailed but I'm not really feeling it. I've left out some details, but they're probably not worth mentioning anyway. Oh well. I got back to the apartment a little after 1 today, took a nap til 6 and am about ready to go back to sleep.

Here's to a much more productive (yet still fun) new year!
