Since I've so little room left, and since I don't really get paid enough to live at the bare minimum (not without the bonuses for my education, which will balance things out..), I've taken to selling off old things on Amazon Marketplace. Its almost voyeuristic, in an odd way, to make such sales..
My latest sale is an audio-book copy of Isaacson's biography of Ben Franklin. It's going to Paris, France. This is incredibly fitting, historically.. he was thought of very, very highly in France, at the time of the revolution - and I suppose he's faired well to this very day. :)
Before that, a DVD was ordered by someone with a Unit # and APO for an address. Shipping somewhere overseas, military! It was a little surprising, as I hadn't thought about it, but even those in the Middle East right now do get to watch movies, and have a life..! At least, some of them, right? Oh, it was a copy of Bubba Ho-Tep, since I seemed to have two, fnar. Interesting that it was a simple, apolitical humor/spoof movie. :D
The most interesting one, though, was sent right next to the White House, right on Pennsy Ave. It was cute, a copy of Bowling for Columbine I picked up while it was cheap, all the way back when I worked at Stop & Shop, I think! I found it really interesting that it was to an office suit and an individual person there - maybe this bureaucrat works so much its better than sending it to his home?
