Though I did not know the place, I set out for the land of my dreams.
In about two days I make the big move. I've been working on getting a bit of media and entertainment ready for the journey. It looks like we'll have 3 drivers to switch between, and if we drive roughly fifteen hours a day, that means that we'll work five hour shifts. Which means, ten hours in the car, doing things other than driving!
So, to prepare, I'll bring my laptop, of course. But what I should put on it..? I've not thought about it as much as I've needed to. Right now, it has..

circuit_four, of course! And play with one of two Nintendo DS systems. Its possible I could get to use my phone as a Cellular Modem, as well, and talk to anyone on AIM or ICQ or any Muck that way. Possibly. And I'm bringing at least Cartoon History of the Universe Part III along in the car, as well, as I've recently read parts One and Two over again.
The car has been outfitted with, as mentioned, a dual set of Aux Inputs, new front and rear Speakers, new Tires, and a new Charcoal Filter for the gas tank - the old one was making the check engine light pop on. And since its Election season, Gasoline prices have fallen dramatically, down to $2.13 in some parts of this state, at least. The lowest I've seen locally is $2.37, but that's still a dollar less than I was paying not too long ago. And so, as on the highway I get at least 400 miles a tank, divided by 2,800 miles for the trip, equals out to 7 tankfulls. 14 gallons times 7 tank fulls, $220.50 for the trip, over 5 days, or about $0.08 a mile. Not terrible..
I intend to bring meal bars for food, rather than eat at all the places we stop. Maybe I'll get some Almonds or the like to nibble on, but nothing more, I think. I only really intend to eat at the Eat and Park, while visiting

sarahmonster, before arriving. This should also save a lot of money, anyhow.
I'm thinking of picking up some sort of additional seat cushioning - not that the seats in my car are anything like harsh, but it is a five day trip. But otherwise, I will be using my Camera on the way, and hopefully I'll have connection at the hotels we stay at, and I can post pictures..!
