I'm hoping Mary is Lou and that Charlie is Kid's daughter. Kid's been gone five years and the letters stopped from Lou four years before, so she must have left sometime before that. Maybe she was pregnant when she left. Or, maybe she married somebody else and he really did die of fever like Mary said her husband did, and Charlie is her second husband's daughter. Charlie makes sense since maybe she named her Charlotte after her friend. If that is Lou, he's going to kick himself for not looking under that bonnet!! Hopefully the Sheriff will mention to Lou that Kid was there looking for his lost wife, and she'll high-tail it to Rock Creek to see him soon!
