I found out yesterday that one of my most interesting lj friends--who was also, dazzlingly but far too briefly, a real life friend--is gone. ( Read more... )
hello, friend! I haven't been using LJ for about 5 years; just tossed a few things up a couple weeks ago b/c there's something about the vibe of this page that I simply like better than trying to wordpress stuff... it's too serious over there, or the wrong kind of serious, or something. so I'm experimenting, but there aren't many folks here listening (like, basically, my flist is you!), so i don't know if that'll put my off again or be rewarding!
To his credit, it was Quixotic_Goat who told me you were active on LJ and sent me looking for you. He reads sometimes, but almost never comments or posts anymore.
I still find LJ an interesting place to read. As the active flist shrank, I put in more authors - such as Ursula Vernon, Jim C. Hines, and Seanan McGuire - and other thoughtful folks who may never meet me but whose words I value. So now my feed is a mix of authors and commentators and comics with the sprinkling of people I know from real life.
