SO BASICALLY I SUCK. Okay. Yes. ...I basically have done nothing the last two days. No, that is a lie, yesterday I did the dishes and played Majora's Mask for a couple of hours. Maybe three. I wasn't keeping track. But today I've done shit all. Mainly read fanfic and also sleeping through my alarm again hopefully now that Mama's home her humanperson alarm will work. She offered. It will be ungodly early as she has to go to work (she can't sleep on planes well and she had an overnight flight last night! She is going to have SO MUCH FUN tomorrow oh Mama).
Anyway there is that. I am going to bed earlier than last night, which is at least not worse.
Anyway, last two days of Fandom Snowflake.
Day 14 - In your own space, ask for help. Need a beta? Always wanted to learn how to make a vid? a fanmix? icons? Maybe you’d want to have someone cheering for you while you work on an upcoming big bang or fannish bingo? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so
I am in a perpetual state of wishing I had more betas, because I know my fic is mediocre at best, not good, and I would like it to be good. Specifically I think I need a beta who looked at story-structure and characterisation and basically how my story could work better as a story, not just. You know. Spelling, grammar, obvious OOC, etc. I have no idea how I would go about finding these people. Possibly they are magic and if you are smart and lucky and wish right, one finds you. I don't know.
I also have an occasional urge to to make AMVs, but have no idea how to go about doing it. Also all the decent free software seems to be for Windows, so.
Day 15 - In your own space, share a favorite memory about fandom: the first time you got into fandom, the last time a fanwork touched your heart, crazy times with fangirls (whether on-line or off-line), a lovely comment you’ve received or have left for someone. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Once upon a time (eight years ago in April) I gave into my bitchy desire to point out that a Japanese boy in Egypt thinking in fucking imperial measurement did not, in fact, make sense. Through it I gained the best and longest friend I have ever had. <3<3<3
