FINALLY FINISHED MY MASTERLIST POST! *does a dance* (It's
here. DW-only (nested cut taaaags. Also I'm too lazy to do one for IJ as well, the coding on this one was bad enough), and I've put it in my sidebar for easy reference! :3) It's. Kind of MASSIVE - I didn't realise just how much I've written! Most of it's short stuff (up to 2K), though, so. =/ Need to write more longfic! >: Also polish up and post the freaking NaNo stuff already! *flails* So lazy.
Did Halloween Town tonight. Oh Sora, your squee about Christmas will never get less cute. <3
Forgot to say yesterday, what with jury squee, but it was a year yesterday since I got back home. *sighs* I miss my friends. I miss Seattle. I just. Grah.
Day 27 - A song that you wish you could play
...um. SO MANY THINGS. Piano pieces in particular, I guess? I feel like I could, with them. Though I love guitar stuff as well... OKAY SOME SOLO INSTRUMENTAL RECS, I CAN DO THAT.
Have squeed about it before, but: • Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts / Field & Battle: Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion
[dl] [youtube]Also Final Fantasy XIII Piano Collection - Fang's Theme, because al;kgjsl SKILL
[dl] [youtube]THE REST OF THE SQUEENIX PIANO COLLECTIONS ALSO APPLY.
• I've kind of been brought up on John Williams' stuff, but that doesn't make it any less pretty. How about, uh. His cover of Bach's Chaconne, that's got a lot of history for me.
[dl] [youtube pt 1] [youtube pt 2]• Speaking of things I was brought up with, Paul Horn's Inside the Taj Mahal II. Here's the second track, inventively titled Soprano saxophone, because they don't seem to have the first one on YouTube, wtf:
[dl] [youtube]• Beethoven's Moonlight might be a cliché but that doesn't make it any less gorgeous. This is it played by Murray Perahia
[dl] (Can't find this particular version on YouTube. =/)
• Something a bit more modern! Gackt - Blue
[dl] [youtube]• And some violin! With a piano accompaniment, but still. The violin's what it's about here. Eileen Ivers - Parting Of Friends [Air]
[dl] (Can't find this one on YouTube at all. =/)
• ...and a multi-instrumental rec, just because they're so awesome. The String Quartet Tribute, are, well. A string quartet cover band, and they are FANTASTIC. Here they are with No Doubt's Don't Speak, mainly because I think most people can recognise this song. (They're great even if you don't - I don't recognise some of the stuff I have of theirs, 'cause I don't know the band they're covering but I still like it - but it's just that extra bit awesome if you do know it.)
