What: Their biggest argument.
Warning: Way backdated.
"Luc!" yelled an infuriated Tenkai as he followed after his friend, 100% certain that the mage was hiding something and not simply having an off day.
Somehow, Tyr hadn't expected his reunion with Luc to be one where he'd be faced with a hardheaded mage. Of course, he was relieved--well, was relieved--that the brunette was back again instead of only being baited by the perception of the other's rune at the edge of his consciousness--still detectable, yet impossible to pinpoint...--but THIS new development, the younger man's formality when addressing the Toran native earlier, was unusual enough that Tyr could say with certainty that something was up. Tyr also knew it wasn't the issue they'd last discussed before the mage's disappearance.
Although, that particular issue was difficult to follow up to after such a long month of absence.
"Wait up!!" he tried again as he reached for the other's arm.
Luc's initial reaction was to immediately pull away the moment he felt a presence reaching for it. He turned and glared at the stubborn Toran native, irritated that he seemed to be refusing to drop the issue at hand.
The brunet had no intention of disclosing the contents of his conversation with the man called Colton, considering he also did not know the full reason behind them. Not that he needed to... Any idiot involved with searching for runes was up to no good.
In the old man's case... he was hired by a bigger group. Not as powerful as Harmonia... not even close... but enough to fund someone to kidnapping and supplying him with seals that contained the wind mage in that cell. At the end of that conversation... Luc accepted a deal. Become an informant concerning the current situation in Budehuc, specifically on them. True Rune Bearers....
This meant that McDohl was a target.
"......."
There had to be a way to deter him from the wind mage without saying anything about his disappearance.
Although he'd mentally prepared himself for the possibility of Luc pulling out of his reach, it hurt a lot to actually be avoided thusly. He didn't know whether to take it personal or not, as worry had been colouring his mood and judgement since Day One of Luc's disappearance, but such action still resulted Tyr boldly returning Luc's glare.
"You can't possibly think I'll believe I'd fall for that lame excuse. Even Sheena would've seen through it," the older man challenged. "So what's up?"
"Nothing is." Luc immediately replied, his irritation now seeping into his voice. "Can you not just accept it? Why does something have to be up for me to return?"
Before waiting for a reply, the wind mage already turned heel to continue the trek back to the old ship. Perhaps shutting a door at this guy's face would get him away.
'What the...!?' Tyr froze on the spot as he tried to register Luc's question.
"... What does that have to do with anything!?" the Toran hero protested angrily as he went after Luc.
"Everything...!" the wind mage hissed. "I said nothing is up and nothing has happened and you just cannot accept that."
He continued to walk off, not bothering to slow down on his speed what-so-ever.
"Do you want something to be wrong?" he argued. "I do not remember anyone giving you a hard time each time you decided to disappear without a bloody word to us...!"
"They weren't fucking worried to death about me either!" he threw back at the mage.
McDohl's reply this time caused the brunet to freeze on his steps. Slowly, he turned to face his former Tenkai, his brows now furrowed in anger. This had got to be the first time... he has ever heard such a word leave the older man's lips.
"Well, that is your issue then...! How does that become my fault?" He muttered darkly. "What you feel and what you do is your own responsibility. Just as it is my actions are mine to be responsible for."
Although that was quite true, the manner in which the retort was delivered felt akin to a slap in the face.
"Well, sorry that I was WORRIED for a..." Tyr grimaced painfully as he pushed the word past his throat with much difficulty, "FRIEND!"
"... So long as you know your mistakes." Luc replied coldly before turning away from him again. "If you have nothing else to say, I will be excusing myself, Lord McDohl."
"...Fine," the Tenkai spit out before turning sharply on his heels, unable to withstand the sight of Luc's back any longer. "Good day, Luc." And walked away with the most painful ache he'd ever felt.
