You've got to hand it to Bush. While he might be turning Iraq into a clusterfuck and screwing up on the recovery effort in Louisiana, he certainly knows how to pick his judicial nominees. John Roberts is nothing if not intelligent, soft-spoken, conservative, young and handsome. How can you attack a guy like that? You can't. Now Bush is gonna make him Chief Justice. Unless Dems discover Roberts liked to molest little boys (or put his pubic hairs on some lady's coke can), there ain't nothing they can do to derail him. Clever.

We'll see how clever Bush is with his second pick. Will it be as bloodless as the first? Hot damn! I love politics!
