Since there was request for a standardized format to certain areas of the RPG, I decided to go ahead and lay down some ground rules. Some of the rules might be a little different than they originally were, because I thought it would work better that way--Ana-mod, if you disagree with any of the changes I've made, please let me know and we can talk it over. ^_^
First of all, the guidelines for RPing itself, as you all should know, are
here.
A few guidelines to RPing
Since I know a few of you haven't RPed like this before, I'll throw out a few tips.
-It isn't considered God-moding if you do something to another character, but don't write out their reaction. If it's something big, like hitting them or something, you should ask the other mun about it. If it's something small, like hugging (as per the example of Sasame-mun at the camping thread), you don't really need to ask; it's more fun that way, because it'll be more like actual life and not RPing if characters don't know exactly what's going to happen next.
That's all for now, actually. There might be more to come as the RPG progresses. _^_

RP logs
All finished RP logs should include the following (since there aren't that many since the RPG is just starting, all muns should change the RP logs they've posted to this format once they're completed):
Title: It should give some idea of what the RP's about.
Characters: All characters that have participated in the RP in question.
Summary: Brief summing up of what happens in the RP, doesn't have to be particularly explicit--for example, for the RP titled Sasame's Exile, it might be something like, 'Kei runs into Sasame in the forest and has some things to say that the Leafe Knight of Sound might not want to hear...'
Timeline: May also be included if applicable; such as when the RP is posted after a certain other RP when it's supposed to take place before the other one. Ex: This RP goes before this other RP, etc. (This means the solo RPs; see below.)
All RP logs should be posted in the main community, including solo RPs; this will help the appearance of continuity in the storyline. This is directed specifically to Hayate-mun and Sasame-mun; both of you have your solo RPs posted on your character journals. Please transfer them to the community ASAP, okay? ^_^
OOC Posts
Here are some guidelines for posting in this community,
typiicon.
When a new RP thread is started, if you have something to say OOC about it that doesn't relate immediately to the progress of the RP, please start a new thread here, and make sure that it is titled '[OOC] Title of RP thread' so we know which RP you're talking about. Thereafter, ALL OOC comments on that RP, unless they relate directly to the progress of that RP, should be kept within this OOC thread. Capische? ;3
Procedures for Leaving the RPG
I'm really, really hoping this is just a ceremonial post, and we won't be needing this. D: Anyway, if you wish to leave the RPG, please post and let us know, and leave your character's LJ username and password in a FRIENDS-LOCKED post here in
typiicon.
Again, I repeat, hopefully no one else will feel the need to leave. ^^; We're doing our best to make this fun for everyone.
Journal entries
There isn't really any specific format for journal entries; however, if you're posting a journal entry that is out of date (such as, for example, all the entries made about the camping RP ^^;;;), please make sure that it is clear somewhere in the journal entry what time it was supposed to be when the character made the entry. If it doesn't fit in the entry, post an OOC note about it.
When making a private journal entry (or part of the journal entry private), please make sure you put [private] both before and after the text of the entry (or the part of it) that is private. If it is only part of the journal entry that is private, you might want to lj-cut it with the label 'private' as well. The same goes for screened journal entries/part of entries, except the title should indicate [Screened from ________].
In addition, since the RPG is moving at quite a leisurely pace at the moment... I doubt the characters will be able to make one journal entry per week whatwith many RPs being half-finished and all.
This means you no longer have to make a journal entry every week, however, instead every character should be ACTIVE in at least one RP per week. It can be the same RP for several weeks at a time, maybe, but they need to be ACTIVE. This means the RP should not grind to a halt because of lack of participation on the part of a single character, and there should not be a significant hole left by a character not participating for a while. If this is not followed, we reserve the right to pester you until it is. :P
If you know that you will be away or something and will not be able to keep up that level of participation, please post here or e-mail us to let one of the mods know, so we can get your character out of the main flow of the RP until you get back. ^_^
