I visited the
Mountain View Cemetery while in the Bay Area this weekend.
It. was. breathtaking.
The place was a huuuuge, sprawling park. Only with dead people beneath your feet. I couldn't get over the intricate beauty of the stone crypts and statues. What amazed me even more than the architectural beauty was walking the strangely quiet, marbled halls of the massive mausoleum. I felt more at peace than I've ever felt before. Do you realize how good it feels to be at PEACE, even for a few moments?! At one point my legs went weak with the feeling of serenity. There is an indescribable tranquility about a cemetery. I could hardly bring myself to leave.
I can't even find words to express what I felt.
