As usual, I don’t know how to put my thought into coherent sentences. So I’m either going to take all night typing up this post or get it done quickly with bullet points.
Today is Chinese New Year’s day for a start. Although I try and avoid superstitions of any sort, on this day, nearly everything I do is with these superstition ideas at the back of my mind. No sweeping the floor because it is thought to be sweeping fortune out of our life. Wear new clothes and new shoes because, well, I’m not too sure. But I sure enjoy this idea. Try not to read books because book in Cantonese is ’shee’ and another meaning for that word is ‘lose’. I’m not too sure if this includes working or not but my parents have never failed to get a day off on this day.
So, I put Chinese New Year’s day as a day where I start anew and all that. To be honest, this year, I feel just the same old me. Procrastinating, messy, failure little old me. But I want to change. I really do. And I hope I do.
Ironic that I didn’t want to create a new year’s resolution list but I did on Chinese New Year’s day. So here’s my list.
- Clean my room (like, seriously get rid of things)
- Get a new and clean layout done and be satisfied with it
- Design a layout for my TCG post (I’ve had it for at least a year now I think…)
- Quit some oTCGs because it’s just too many
- At least get started with PHP or Java
- Do better than a bloody B- in my courses this year. I’m aiming for a minimum of B
- Get a job again
I don’t think that’s too unrealistic. Though the last three resolutions can be a bit rough. But it’s doable.
