Notes: Uh... hi? It's alive?
(
“You know... I’ll still be damned,” Ueda mused idly, kicking his foot a little, “Made it all the way to the palace of the Borderlands. How they managed to keep that loud-mouthed idiot hidden... I do have to hand it to them, those guards did their job.” )
I do believe you just inadvertently implied Ohno is autistic. Which is interesting.
It's 3:08 am and I'm fading fast. So, quickly: It's good to see this updated! The premise of this story caught my attention a few months ago. I like the atmosphere and universe you've created here with the customs and behaviors. It's very immersible. ♥

I have this habit of making srs associations with things because....well, because I have the knowledge of things to make the associations with. It doesn't mean it really has anything to do with you XD
And thank you for writing, I enjoy your pieces frequently. Keep up the good work!

but in real life i doubt he is in on the spectrum. in this fic, though... rather probable.

I just couldn't help but read that description of the behavior and think to myself "Well, that sounds familiar..." I went to school and was rather good friends with with a few kids with Asperger Syndrome when I was in high school. One of my best friends' mom is also a special ed teacher to this day and her primary focus is kids on the autistic spectrum.
I agree that in real life I don't think Ohno is anywhere near actually autistic, but here in the fic he certainly displays some difficulties that function a great deal like autism.
I realize that vintage_belle did not do this on purpose in any way, I just felt the need to point it out because I rarely see anyone write an autistic person's mindset correctly--let alone do it on accident!

the school i taught at only accepted kids with severe to moderate autism, plus my childhood friend is on the spectrum, so i am actually largely familiar with such traits. (ended up critiquing nino's performance in marathon, in which i think he actually did a brilliant job but the producers seemed to overplay a couple'o things, yet that's another story...) i think it's amazing elle did it on accident. ahahhaa.

i'm with you on this. totally.
and elle, sorry for spamming your thread! :P
