Maybe Nino will step back and look and realize that Ohno is just patiently tolerant of Nino’s affections - he accepts them, but he won’t return them. Maybe Nino will be hurt by that realization, but he’ll accept it and try to get over it.
He’ll come to Sho when it happens, because Sho is his best friend.
Sho will be waiting, because Sho’s been waiting for years.

It didn’t make it any easier to watch the constant touches and small gestures of affection, because he couldn’t be a part of it. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn’t join in.

So he lashed out, making exaggerated statements of disgust, and pretended he couldn’t see the hurt in Ohno’s eyes or the confused anger in Nino’s.
Better to give them a reason to push him away than admit to cowardice.
