Today i went for a ride on my vespa through the hills of berkeley.
Everything about today was perfect for a ride, it was sunny, warm and best of all i had nothing to do. So i decided to ride the windy roads that carve through the untouched and isolate hills behind berkeley.
So i'm riding downhill through a pass and there's a turn at the bottom so i slow down. As i make my way to the bottom and lean into the turn, i didn't take into account the leaves that had accumulated on the ground. I applied the back brake a little too stiff and the back end of the bike slid out from under me. The vespa went sliding on the ground to my left and i went flying forward landing on my shoulder.
It all happened so fast, i didn't even know what happened untill i picked myself up off the asphalt. the amazing thing is, i just stood right up after the accident with only a few scratches on me.
i still can't believe i'm perfectly fine. My vespa is scrapped up on one side and it's going to be a lot of money to fix if i ever get around to it, but at this point i don't really care.
That was my first motorcycle accident ever and it's a shocking experience. I can't compare the shock of being thrown from your bike onto the pavement to anything at all.
