catch
11.13.2010
it was still outside
and the sky grey
when the earth opened
and swallowed me whole
it held me upon it's tongue
so quiet, so dark
and i drank in the soil
in so many small pills
that i sweat prozac
not salt
the earth watered me
with the wine
that coursed through its
many caverns
cenote
i whisper and break
apart
o bright magnolia
bursting in foam
i lose myself in the
dazzling lurch of the sea
i ratify the silence
and emerge from the
sandy coffin of earth
to silence
to a bird singing
to the clatter of
the streetcar
