Seventeen-year-olds don't deserve pity, and frequently, don't even deserve trust.
So today's shoutout is to everyone who isn't 17. Go ahead, pat yourselves on the back.
Also, I feel I must add...this post goes for even my seventeen-year-old self. I sucked.
Go nineteen-year-old me.

For the most part I'm sick of the young ones complaining about how bad they've got it (in Brian's brother's case, the complaining is over having to ride the bus to school now and how much harder it'll be to buy weed). And I'm sorry for anyone who had to listen to me complain about how bad I had it when I was that age. I've found enlightenment since then, and I find myself wanting to beat that enlightenment into the people around me.
And I'm enraged because I know I won't even be able to instill some sense of reality in my own teenagers when I have them. I'm only 19 for Christ's sake...and 17 year olds won't even listen to me. I'm still young enough to be cool, but no high-schooler wants to listen to anyone if they're telling them to just enjoy being young and leave the grown-up stuff to the grown-ups. I don't know...
Mostly this post was in general frustration with the youthful mentality. Feel free to share your own thoughts on the matter.
