Northwestern was a lot of fun, but the time went by quickly. Drove to South Chicago with Kyle and Jo, met up with Jo's uncle, went out for pizza, drove up to Evanston, tailgated for a bit, and then headed out for the game. It was really cool to actually watch a football game while NOT baking in a wool uniform. Plus, we won, so that kicked double ass.
Got back to the hotel late-ish and hung out for a while with a bunch of trumpets until we decided that we were hungry. So at 1:00 in the morning, we all made our way to the parking lot for some tailgating -- and free steaks. It was awesome.
The rest of the night was relatively uneventful, and ended with me returning to a tiny suite crammed with nine other trumpet players and falling asleep under a desk.
Back to the real world now, though, but only for four days. I'm leaving for DC on Thursday evening because my dad has another conference (read: free hotel room and all but 6-8 hours of the weekend for hanging out). I love travelling...it's a lot of fun. I wish Kira were coming, though.
Speaking of Kira, she got a job at Cruis'n Coffee! That makes me really excited. Maybe I can score some free coffee when I come up next...
Anyway, my Buddhism paper will not write itself. Or perhaps it will, in which case I should make sure that it does so correctly.
I don't know why I conclude my journal entries like that all the time,
