Things I have learned in Biology Honours so far:
1. Murphy's law also applies to scientific endeavour. Who knew?
2. Academics are beyond busy. Far, far beyond.
3. Biology academics/grad students don't wash their stuff up normally... they just rinse everything briefly under boiling water. Like wtf man? Hot water don't get oils and fats off real good.
