So after many years of being utterly terrified of the concept, I'm finally going to try Maelstrom this weekend.  Scary.

I've arranged for someone to feed the kitties.  I've made travel arrangements.  I've nearly finished designing my character.

I'll definitely bring along my heavy leather set. It's my favourite and I can easily run around in it for a whole week without noticing.

Will probably bring along the paladin/knight set as well as it's pretty neat and makes a nice jingle sound when I move. Can run around in that for a weekend without too much trouble (yay for decent padding...)

Note to self:

- Find wool cloak.
- Find cloak pin.
- Reattach one to the other.

Note to self 2:

Polish heavy leather armour set. It's covered in Stock Wood mud!

Welcome to the event - I'm sure you'll see a remarkable number of almost-familiar faces around the place ;) Definitely think leather unless you are fine with shucking it off repeatedly - somehow metal armour feels much worse when you spend much of your time not in combat.
