Honestly, I was never very close to Randy, but his tenacity, skill, and simple refusal to give up will always serve as a strong artistic inspiration for me. We didn't always get along, he and I, but I will never cease to be awed by what that man could do, even when the world did everything it could to try and crush him. He had a lot of brilliant light in him, and a lot of fantastic dreams that he never had a chance to see realized.
The world is, by far, a much worse place for having missed out on experiencing his ideas and vision. Stories that will never be told, and worlds that will never be explored. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been allowed to share in some small part of all that.
