Maria gave me a LiveJournal nudge. Guilt trip for not posting in a while, thanks.
Update on me then. My car's gasket kicked the bucket a week before Christmas. The gasket caused issues with the motor and long story short, my paid-off car died a sad tragic and very unexpected death. What ensued was a tedious and painful process of attempting to educate myself about purchasing a car, car dealers (people give lawyers a bad rap, but some car dealers definately take the prize) and me test-driving about 20 cars in just over a week. I now have a 2002 Mazda Protege. I always rationalized that I didn't need such frivolaties such as power locks, power windows, cruise control, trunk release, etc (b/c my old sunfire didn't really have anything) but my new old car is pretty loaded. I have a sunroof too. My personal favorite is definately keyless entry.
The job is the same, except they add more work, without adding to the salary. Having a case aide is pretty cool, she is part-time but having someone to order around makes me feel important. If anyone has questions on Medicare part D, ask me. I think I posted earlier that it sucks. I heard recently that 1 out of 5 individuals who formerly had medication coverage through Medicaid was stuck without meds this month (as anyone with dual eligibility had coverage switched around).
I have been picking up extra shifts at a program in my organization that is a residential facility for kids with emotional/behavioral disabilities. It is both very sad and very scary. Only mild flesh wounds on the hands so far (knock on wood, a couple of the people who work there have face-scars).
I am due for a vacation and am hoping my tax return is decent enough to take one. So if anyone would like to go somewhere not in Michigan, let me know.
