It's been a while.

I think over a year actually, but I manage to keep in touch with all(most) of you, so I don't feel too bad about it. The thing that does seem to suffer is me and making use of a creative outlet.
Good news is work has kind of become that outlet. I guess that's one reason I stopped keeping up with it(even though I would benefit in cataloging and organizing my thoughts), that and the lack of positive news outside of work.
Additional good news is my rank in Tinkering has increased of late. I've kind of been pushing my suggestions for new things at work onto myself rather than my superiors who technically should be doing development.

So, segue into things/ideas I've been playing with lately and the following portion where you offer corresponding ideas and advice.
Installment One: Multitouch U-I's are pretty amazingly neat gizmos, and also apparently fairly simplistic. I say simplistic in the principles of it, not in the actual programming of it of which I am mildly clueless about.
Anyhow, lucky for me the opensource community is a great thing. So, right now, I've set up a Multitouch UI using shadows on paper + webcam method to demonstrate the concept, and can hopefully convince the people that have money to let me make a full size IR based one. Anyhow, any tips on said thing or applications of technology is appreciated.
2: Found a crazy great recipe for bubble solution. It's in progress. Will show off when ready.
3: I've been overcome with a desire to play with basic LED toys for different things at work, despite my rudimentry knowledge of circuitry. However, I don't think I'll have trouble once I pick it up fer relzies. So, any on or offline resources that explain said junk is good.
4: I need to build a robot.
5: And go back to school.

Now, back to other things.

Batman was really amazingly good, but no sense in telling you what you should have already deduced. I'd elaborate, but it's pleasantly 4:30 AM, and I get to work in wake up in three hours.

OH!

Books you people have to read:

Watchmen. It's a graphic novel(READ: easy read) by Allen Moore(V for Vendetta) and the trailer is in front of Batman. This is the graphic novel credited for taking comics out of the cheesy depression they were in for a while.

Cryptonomicon. I finally finished it. It's might be the most well written, stimulating, and awakening book in modern literature. Or at least that I have read so far.

I'll blather on in detail later, provided I don't forget the existence of this blog.

If anyone has any ideas on hobbies or undertakings, purchase a replica Civil War era cannon off of eBay, load with gunpowder and said ideas and send them my way.

Till then,

Tyler M."ore or less" Nezat
