Alec pushed open the door, a bowl of cereal in one hand, and dropped onto his bed with general unconcern for the possible spilling of milk everywhere.
He settled down, taking a bite of cereal as he watched Tyler a moment. "Whatcha doing? Besides annoying the neighbors, which isn't exactly a bad thing."
Tyler tossed the ball harder and caught it. "Peter and Greg can complain if they want to," he said. "I'm just trying to figure stuff out. Things didn't go the way I hoped on my little trip."
"Turned out I'm more replaceable than I thought I was," Tyler said. "Want to know how many Tyler Durdens there are running around right now? Four. And that's just the ones who use the name."
Tyler shook his head. "Nah, that's a waste of breath. And it's not like there's a medal in it for me. I'm going to stay here, lay low, see what happens." He could have added "watch the news for any overt acts of violence," but didn't. "I won't end up in jail or dead from Fandom High, anyhow."
"I heard about them, but didn't see them myself," Alec said, shrugging. "Fandom gets all the weirdos, I guess. Why the hell were you sleeping in the park?"
Alec laughed and then slurped his milk from the bottom of his cereal bowl. He slid the bowl onto his bedside table, grinning at Tyler. "Guess it doesn't matter much. Glad to see you back though anyway."
"Not much," Alec said, shaking his head. "At least not that I know of. And I'm doing pretty good actually." He grinned. "Beginning to get kind of bored though. We should think of something, now you're back."
