Halfway through "Bad Girls."
The part where Faith seduces Buffy out of her chemistry test and they go kill things and act like it's a date. And then they go dancing surrounded by adoring men but really just dancing with eachother, all with the hip twisting and the gyrating and the secret Slayer smirks they keep giving eachother.
And then the police car, and they're both handcuffed with their entire backs pressed flush together from head to toe, fingers supposedly groping to unlock the other's cuffs only you just know Faith was copping a feel.
I'm sorry, there is NO WAY these two are not screwing eachother.
Why didn't Joss let Buffy be a lesbian earlier, when it actually made sense? It all could have been okay, only Buffy doesn't get that she has crazy UST with Faith, she just thinks they've got a slayer bond. On the other hand, Faith really does get it, and Buffy keeps reacting in this positive way so she just keeps pushing it, and oh my GOD she's going to treat Buffy coming back to her "good girl" senses as a personal rejection, a rejection of Faith and not a moral issue at all.

From "Consequences". What's the first thing Faith brings up when Buffy wants her to tell about the deputy mayor? "You could lie to everybody to protect Angel, but not me?" SHE IS SO JEALOUS.
"Nine times out of ten, the face they're showing you is not the real one."
"I'd guess you'd know a lot about that."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Just look at you, Faith. Less than 24 hours ago you killed a man, and now it's all zippedy dooh dah? That's not your real face and I know it."
She's so good at using reason to argue her way out of things. If Buffy weren't arguing the moral pov, maybe Faith could take it. By giving her an opponent, she's cementing Faith's choice. Like Eli and "whether or not I should go down the hill".
FUCK WESLEY.
ANGEL'S INTERVENTION WAS TOTALLY FUCKING WORKING.
He was talking to her about how alike they were. And how he came here, saw that people could be good, and how everything could change if she just trusted them. EQUIVALENT OF THE SPIKE/RILEY TALK FROM SEASON FIVE, ANYONE?
OH FAITH.
Going evil is really, really going to kill me.
ETA: Oh jesus. I can't even blame her. Either one of them. Buffy's shocked and horrified, Angel shows up and tells her Giles is in danger, she goes on autopilot and does what she always does.
What that does is leaves Faith alone in the alley, staring at the person she just killed. She's traumatized and trying not to show it, and touches her fingers just lightly to the wound, and dammit, she's at her most vulnerable right here, and she's just waiting for some kind of help or comfort or companionship or anything. Real friends help you bury the bodies, right? And she's only now got to this point where she's relying on Buffy for anything, and she's scared and panicking and waiting for Buffy, and Buffy doesn't come. Faith's all on her own again. She has to deal by herself, by her own rules, because nobody else is helping her. And then Buffy comes the next day, in a pretty dress and high heels looking all pure and clean and fairweather, and Faith is washing the blood out of her clothing. OF COURSE SHE DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITY. OF COURSE SHE SAYS SHE DOESN'T CARE. It's self defense!

OMG FAITH KISSED HER!! FAITH KISSED HER GOODBYE AND WANTED TO PARTAKE OF THE SEXUAL TORTURE! "You kill me, you become me. And you're not ready for that. Not yet." AND THEN SHE KISSED HER. JESUS FUCK.
"He was only kissing Faith for the greater good!"
"I don't know. Looked pretty fun from my point of view. I just wish I could know he wasn't--tempted."
x
AND THEN BUFFY KISSED HER GOODBYE.
I was sitting there when she approached the hospital bed going "omg, she's going to kiss her, she's going to kiss her, come on buffy, kiss her, kiss her, kiss her OMG SHE KISSED HER!!!" It made my night.
Also, there is symbolism to one girl penetrating another with her own knife. Much, much symbolism.
AND THEY SHARE DREAMS! They share dreams and they're all friendly and sweet in dreams like they aren't in real life and Faith told her how to defeat the Mayor and helped her to wake up and get back to life! GIRLS. <3.
I think I may have a new favorite.
And I need to go rewatch season 5 to remind myself why Spike/Buffy is also of the win. There was a moment between them in this season too, though! In the one episode he was in. (Despite this, his face still appeared on one of the DVDs. I am stymied.) Buffy: I can fool my friends, I can fool Giles, but I can't fool myself--or, for some reason, Spike. That is the essence of Spike/Buffy right there. He gets her. And most of the time he isn't afraid to use that against her, but it also means that he's the one she goes to when she can't explain how she's feeling to her friends in seasons six and seven. Because she knows he gets her. Yeah okay, so I still love him.
...Faith/Buffy/Spike, anyone? ; )
