Dedicated to
rii_no_ame for all her wonderful fics, especially her ByaRen(s) and KaienShuu, and for being around. ♥ Somehow I think Byakuya ended up a tad OOC here. :/ I blame the muse.
(
Even though the subsequent throngs of crowds had bothered him, he had taken delight in the redhead’s amazement at the bright and colourful lighting. )

Sweet and fluffy and very romantic. And it's how I often picture Byakuya wandering around in the Living World - intrigued by a few things, but careful not to show it too much, whereas Renji would be one giant walking ball of enthusiasm.
Now I want to know what book of poetry Renji purchased...
Two more things.
1) "he found himself cautious at not knowing the rules" - I love this characterization of rulebound Byakuya and how uncertain he is without the strictures of duty and expectation.
2) the thought of Byakuya all tangled up and confused in tape was beyond adorable
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this! I really enjoyed it. ♥

As a matter of fact, my muse was pretty inspired, so this didn't take that long to write. On the other hand, I kept getting the feeling that Byakuya didn't feel that 'Byakuya-ish' when I was proofreading it... Not too sure why, but perhaps it seemed like Byakuya wasn't reacting with his usual cool, controlled manner. XD
As for the poetry, well I was thinking of Matsuo Bashou for one, because I remember reading his haiku in a correspondent's article. The same correspondent also had another article with poetry from a courtesan, whom I can't remember the name, nor find the article... so >.>
Thank you for reading and commenting~ ♥

About music - my impression of Byakuya indicates that he'd really enjoy a classical concert, whereas Renji would tend to fall asleep. FYI didya know that 30% of male attendees of concerts and ballets fall asleep in their seats? My husband got this tidbit from an usher while getting his 2nd coffee while trying to stay away during the Nutcracker :-) Anyway...did Bya have an opinionm, in your mind?
Thanks for writing.

On the concert? Well, I'd expect Byakuya to find it interesting and perhaps a little extravagant/unnecessary, depending on how the pieces were rearranged for a symphonic orchestra. There is quite a difference between traditional Japanese music and Western symphonic music.
I would imagine Byakuya preferring music from the shamisen, koto or shakuhachi... and speaking of which, that gives me an idea... =P
