It may exist, but that doesn't mean calling attention to it makes no difference. Words are more powerful than many give them credit for, and it can be almost depressingly easy to take advantage of, given the right circumstances.
Nowhere in that did I say that I found most people particularly trustworthy, or did I suggest that everyone should trust each other unconditionally. I only questioned your motives for calling attention to the topic.

I'm the kind to suspect the motives behind a statement that is clearly meant to inspire distrust among a large group of people.

Whether I had said anything or not, I am not the only one who thinks such a theory. I don't need to inspire distrust for it's already there.
