Tyki emerged silently from his secret chamber behind the panel, looking around carefully even as he opened it, to ensure that no one saw him. Then he stepped out into the hall, holding the panel open for his companion so he would not be trapped when the door closed. Zechs was walking behind him, not in his accustomed place on his shoulder.

For some reason, Tyki thought maybe Zechs was unhappy with him. Well, he'd get over it.
