Tyki tried to be sceptical, he really tried.

He'd tried to make sure he covered all of his bases, too. But the offer was just too good, and she said she didn't want anything in return but to watch the fall-out

"I know you are not a fool," Zechs said, trying to get his head wrapped around this situation. She just wanted to watch Tyki? Watch Tyki do what, exactly? Murder Exorcists as his Noah used to command him to? Command an army of akuma? Take vengeance upon that boy Exorcist, Allen Walker? None of these things Tyki expressed the slightest interest in doing. His lover had even said he didn't want to kill people any longer, though Zechs knew - like himself - he could and would if necessary. But what did Eris expect of the Noah?

His mind pulled itself into knots. If she just expected what Tyki would actually do - go out with his more dangerous friends, cause mischief and stick his nose in where it didn't belong, and bait people who quite frankly displeased Zechs as well - then it'd be similarly chaotic to suddenly take those powers away from him, he feared. He remembered Rufus' random shot at Tyki's back, or Dark's barrage of feathers. Either of those situations had absolutely nothing to do with Tyki's world or their war, but would have been deadly to him all the same.

Fearing for Tyki, but trying to sort out this logically, he replied in a tight voice, "I cannot trust her motives." He leaned into the Noah's arms, though, as if to show his complete lack of disapproval towards his lover.

Because Tyki hadn't done anything wrong, per se. Without a price attached, who wouldn't want their old abilities back having such a previously powerful nature? Zechs' mind flickered without intention towards the ZERO.
