[the feed clicks on, and there's an exaggerated yawn and the sound of rustling sheets, followed by a young girl's voice - one that's likely familiar to some of demeleier's residents, at least - slightly slurred, the speaker still half asleep.]

Uwehh, sure got dark again ... but where's Big Sis Val?

[the girl yawns again, and mumbles something

[ Valeria is perched on the edge of Dante's bed, legs drawn up Indian-style beneath her and lackluster eyes just barely focusing on the communicator in her still gloved hands. She scrolls through the broadcasts on the network, her interest waning rapidly in light of her perpetual awareness of the absence of a certain little girl the memory of whom she just can't shake. She isn't sure she wants to to begin with and the more she thinks about Luki, the less she wants to bother with the communicator or anything else really. If nothing else, she just wants to sleep and she's of a mind to after such a long day, fingers tripping over the buttons of the communicator as she lowers the device to the bed at her side only to pause as a very familiar voice sounds from it. That voice, she knows that voice and she lifts the communicator rapidly with both hands to observe the blank screen, grip tightening and hands shaking increasingly and well out of her control. ]

Luki...? Luki, is that you?

[ It's her. She doesn't even have to wait for an answer to know that it's her. Her heart is screaming as much from its newfound place in her throat, thundering in her ears, her expression completely unguarded as she filters through a number of emotions. She drops the communicator, completely and totally unaware that she activated the video function in response. The device tumbles to the floor as Valeria pushes herself up and off the bed, making to break for Vergil's room where she knows the two brothers are sleeping. She's already yelling, and loudly for -- ]

DANTE! Dante, wake up! It's Luki! She's here! She's here! [ And between the shock and the hopefulness and the anxiety, she sounds nothing short of ecstatic. ]

[ACTION + VIDEO]

[Dante hadn't been expecting a wake up call that evening, for a guy that hardly slept, he was actually doing it for once. He ran into the other section of the croft, rubbing his eyes, sword out. He figured somethign had gotten into the house.]

Calm down, calm down. I'll kill the spider, just calm the he-

[And then whatever portion of him was trying to wake him up properly eventually did. He snapped into attention.]

Luki's back? Luki's here?! Where the hell is she?!

[ACTION + VIDEO]

I -- [ And she's pausing at that, stammering with the sudden realization that she doesn't know. Luki hadn't said where she was, just that it was dark, so -- ] I-I don't know! She didn't say, but she's here and -- [ It's then that the front door began to shake as a result of strong claws scratching at the wood with a very clear insistence. ] Geri?

[VOICE]

Bwuhh?

[the shouting is what wakes her fully, with a violent start. it's loud, and tense - both things guaranteed to grab her attention. luki yawns and rubs at her eyes as she inquires after her guardians.]

Big Sis Val? Big Bro Dante? Where'd you guys go?

[VOICE]

[He moved over to Val's side, beckoning her to get the door. She obviously knew who it was. Blue eyes peered into the communicator. He heaved a sigh of relief.]

S-Sorry, Princess we thought you were- [Gone? Yeah, let's not tell a kid that. He just gave her a smile.]

Where are you, princess? We're on our way.

[VOICE]

I'm at home ... [and another yawn] I just got a little tired ... but where is Big Bro? And Big Sis? [a slight note of concern begins to creep into her voice, because it's obvious by now that something isn't right. even luki can pick up on this.] Did something bad happen?

[VOICE]

[ And Valeria, having opened the door to a certain very excited worg and promptly instructed him to get to Luki fast and look after her, is doubling back to pick up her own communicator and activate the voice function. She moves quickly to rejoin Dante as she speaks, reaching to give his sleeve a tug in the direction of the door even as her lips split into a wide smile. The relief is very much audible in her voice. She couldn't possibly be happier at the moment. ]

Everything's fine, Luki. We're coming home right now, so just sit tight, okay? We'll be right there. Promise.

[VOICE]

[Dante didn't hesitate when he saw where Val was beckoning. He gave her a smile and started walking when he caught the sound of a very strange word.]

Home.

[He hadn't exactly used it himself but hey, it made sense, right? Not to him, because he obviously didn't live there, but Val and Luki did. It made sense.]

Just hang tight, Luki. We'll be there in a sec. Keep her on the line, I don't want another accident, Lady.

[VOICE]

Ooookay, Luki can do that ... but where did you go? Did you find Sackiroth?

[VOICE]

[ She looks between Dante and the communicator as she walks with him, pausing briefly if only to wrap her head around Luki's questions and formulate a proper response. That smile and the relief that accompanied it still haven't left her voice. Luki's here and they're going home. ]

We're coming from Dante's house, Luki. [ A beat. ] We haven't been able to find Sackiroth yet. He's a really good hider, but tomorrow, we can look for him together, okay? The three of us. How's that sound?

[VOICE]

Yeah!! OK, that sounds good! Three eyes are better than one, right?

[VOICE]

Three eyes are much better than one, yes. [ And she pauses, albeit for a brief second, her smile tugging wider. ] We're almost at the door, so sit tight for a second longer. We're almost there, Luki. [ Almost home at last. ]

[VOICE]

Ooookay, Luki will sit tight right here! [on the edge of the bed. is there such a thing as "sitting to attention"? because that's what luki is doing, and will continue to do until val and dante get to the croft.]
