I hate job hunting and there are so many people/companies ready to take advantage of the situation. I have lectured a few callers about false advertising and preying on the unemployed in the past and I find myself back in the same sticky situation. Free educational opportunities? Blah! An uncredited "online" university rep contacted me and half way through his speech, I asked him what the cost would be. He tried to give me the run around, talking about how many credits I would need, without any knowledge of my former educational background, and I simply put it, "I am asking about the financial cost. What is it?" He told me and I went into a tirade about the bull he was trying to sell and I questioned the legitimacy of the company he represented. Did he have any answers? Of course not. Who the hell does he think he's messing with? LoL
In addition, I have talked with recruiters spouting bullshit about amazing career opportunities that are available to me and they end up as sales positions people with half a brain would not even consider. I spend numerous hours filling out online applications, providing references, and a resume. How dare you ask me for background information and not expect me to have some information about you. Assholes! I don't expect a "great job" to fall in my lap, but I do expect honesty about what they have to offer in return for my skills and time. Is that too much to ask for?
