My Short Bit on Tron Legacy
I was fierier about this a couple hours ago, but here is what's left of it.
Seriously, this is what came out of all the hype? This movie doesn't know what it is, and what it is, is a VERY BAD rehashing of the original Tron, without any of the fun quirky 80's ness. We've dumped the entire premise that we are indeed inside a computer, and that the people in this world are just personified programs. All that, gone. It just feels like some dystopian society movie, the same type we've seen over and over again. Also the effect they used for Young Jeff Bridges is so uncanny valley that it really shouldn't have been there at all.
However, here is my biggest issue. The movie is called TRON right?
WELL WHERE THE HELL IS TRON??!?!?!?!? -flails arms-
Really, Tron as Tron has less than a minute of screen time. For the entire movie he's been re-designated into this Rizler program that works for CLU. This is unacceptable! The only moment I liked was his ONE LINE. Otherwise this movie was a disappointment.
