Tornadoes...

Having tornadoes like... seven miles away... at this very moment... that are going 50 miles per hour...... NOT a comfortable feeling.

Welcome to Michigan.

I used to have nightmares about tornados all the time when I was still living at home.

we had another one that barely missed us, just by a few miles. there's been nothing on tv for hours other than following these storms. SCARY!

Yup, that sounds like the summers/falls of my youth. There's nothing more awesome than having the sky turn dark with non-stop lightning and being shoved into the basement to hide in a corner with a flashlight and a portable radio, hoping your house wasn't going to be picked up and carried off. =P

I'm remembering that time at Case when there was a tornado warning and you and Val were freaking out and the rest of us were like, what? It's just a tornado.

PS - Seek cover in your bathtub with a blanket or mattress, if ever necessary. Get out of any rooms with windows.

yea they kept giving those suggestions on the news and on the radio.. they also were like "go to the basement" and i'm like I DON'T HAVE ONE GAaAAAAaaaH!
you'd think by now i'd be used to it but i'm so not at all.
also the fact that a tornado actually touched down and fucked shit up just a few miles away makes me shudder.

Fyi, as a tornado approaches, you get the "calm before the storm" effect. That is, it will be pitch black and thundering and lightning, and then all of a sudden the sky turns pink and the thunder and lightning stop. THAT'S when you've got ten seconds to head to the bathtub. Okay, I'm done being a meteorologist now.

You think your weather makes for a crappy week... I have to go to a fucking wedding tomorrow and deal with people from high school and the douchebag fiance...

(That's right, it's ALL about ME.)

the douchebag fiance? i'm confused...

we totally had a weird 'calm before the storm' moment last night, too. all of a sudden the crazy wind and rain just STOPPED. it was very eerie. but the news wasn't screaming "DUCK AND COVER" so we thought we were ok.
